Bosch battery questions
Are Bosch 18V batteries interchangeable with Milwaukee, DeWalt or Makita batteries?
No. DeWalt, Milwaukee, Makita and Bosch each use their own battery footprint, contacts and latch, so a blue Bosch 18V battery, Bosch's own or a CEENR replacement, does not fit Milwaukee M18, DeWalt 20V MAX or Makita 18V LXT tools. Bosch says its own 18V batteries work with Bosch 18V tools and with AMPShare-brand tools. CEENR's cross-brand option is the PDnation™ Universal Power Platform: with the Bosch 18V Brand Mount, one PDnation battery runs the tools listed on that mount's page, and with another brand's mount, that brand's tools.
Which Bosch 18V batteries do CEENR batteries replace?
CEENR 5.0, 6.0 and 8.0Ah Bosch batteries use the same blue Bosch 18V slide, so each fits in place of Bosch's blue 18V packs, including the BAT620, BAT621, BAT622, GBA18V40, GBA18V60, GBA18V80, BAT611 and BAT612 and the older BAT609, BAT610G, BAT618 and BAT619G. In capacity, the CEENR 5.0Ah corresponds to Bosch's BAT621 and the 6.0Ah to the BAT622. Bosch's 12Ah GBA18V120 is sold for PROFACTOR tools only, and CEENR makes no pack that size.
Are all Bosch 18V batteries interchangeable?
For blue Bosch 18V tools, largely yes. Bosch says its 18V batteries are compatible with Bosch 18V tools and chargers, and CEENR 5.0, 6.0 and 8.0Ah packs use the same blue 18V slide; they fit PROFACTOR and EXPERT tools too, though CEENR has not published performance data for those. No CEENR pack is listed for the lasers Bosch limits to 4.0Ah or less or for the Power Box radios that charge the pack in their bay, and the 8.0Ah is not listed for tools with a covered or recessed battery bay.
Do blue Bosch 18V batteries fit green Bosch tools?
No. Blue Bosch 18V is the line Bosch sells in the US and calls Bosch Professional 18V in Europe; green Bosch Home & Garden tools run on a separate system, 18V POWER FOR ALL. Bosch says the two battery systems are not compatible and will not be unified. Everything CEENR makes for Bosch is built for the blue system: the replacement batteries, the 6A fast charger, the USB-C power adapter, the 150W inverter and the Bosch Brand Mount.
Which size Bosch 18V battery should I get: 5.0Ah, 6.0Ah or 8.0Ah?
All three use the same blue Bosch 18V slide and voltage; a higher capacity just runs longer between charges. The 6.0Ah is the best balance of runtime, weight and price for drills, drivers and impact tools; the 8.0Ah gives 33% more runtime than the 6.0Ah for rotary hammers, grinders and circular saws; the 5.0Ah is the lightest pack, for overhead work. For tools whose battery sits under a cover or in a recessed bay, such as certain floodlights and radios, CEENR lists the 5.0 and 6.0Ah, not the taller 8.0Ah.
Which charger should I use for a CEENR Bosch 18V battery?
Charge CEENR Bosch packs on the CEENR 6A fast charger for Bosch 18V. They also seat on blue Bosch 18V chargers such as the GAL18V-40 and BC1880, though Bosch's charger manuals approve only Bosch and AMPShare packs. The CEENR 6A charger takes blue Bosch 18V slide batteries from 1.5Ah to 8.0Ah, Bosch's own or CEENR, and a 6.0Ah pack is ready in roughly an hour.
What is the difference between a CEENR replacement battery, a PDnation battery and the USB-C power adapter?
A CEENR replacement battery is a drop-in pack for blue Bosch 18V tools and has no USB port. A PDnation™ battery, from CEENR's Universal Power Platform, has two-way USB-C built in, so it is a power bank on its own, and with the Bosch 18V Brand Mount (sold separately) it runs the tools listed on that mount's page. The 45W USB-C power adapter is not a battery: it clips onto a blue Bosch 18V slide battery (1.5Ah to 8.0Ah), Bosch's own or CEENR, to charge phones, tablets and USB-C laptops.
What can the CEENR 150W inverter run from a Bosch 18V battery?
It runs small electronics that together draw 150W or less: a laptop and monitor, an LED work light, a small fan, a Wi-Fi router or modem, and phone, camera and battery chargers. The inverter clips onto a blue Bosch 18V slide battery, Bosch's own or CEENR, and turns it into a standard US 120V / 60Hz AC outlet; a bigger battery runs your devices longer. It is not for high-watt appliances such as space heaters, kettles, microwaves, coffee makers or hair dryers.
