USB power adapter questions
Can I use a Milwaukee, DeWalt or Makita tool battery as a power bank?
Yes, with the CEENR 45W USB-C power adapter for that battery platform. The adapter is a clip-on, not a battery: it turns the slide pack it is clipped onto into a two-way power bank, and the power comes from that pack. You need a battery of the matching brand, the tool maker's own or a CEENR replacement battery. CEENR makes the adapter for eight tool brands.
Can the USB-C power adapter charge a phone and a laptop from a tool battery?
Yes. The adapter's 45W USB-C Power Delivery port (5/9/12/15V at 3A, 20V at 2.25A) charges phones, tablets and USB-C laptops, and its 5V/2.2A USB-A port charges a second device at the same time. It supports PD, QC, AFC, FCP, SCP and Apple 2.4A fast charging. The bigger the pack you clip it on, the more charges you get.
Can the USB-C power adapter recharge the tool battery?
Yes. The adapter's USB-C port is two-way: plug in any USB-C PD phone or laptop charger, or a car adapter or power station with USB-C PD, and it recharges the pack it is clipped onto, so you don't need a tool charger on the road. While the pack recharges, the next LED on the 3-LED gauge blinks as it fills, and all three stay on at 100%.
How is the USB-C power adapter different from a battery charger?
The CEENR 6A fast charger is a wall charger: it plugs into AC power and charges a tool battery at 6A, so a 6.0Ah pack is ready in roughly an hour. The USB-C power adapter clips onto the battery to power phones, tablets and USB-C laptops from it. In reverse, it refills the pack through its 45W USB-C port from any USB-C PD charger, so you can top up without a tool charger.
Which batteries does the USB-C power adapter fit?
Each version fits one battery platform. Eight take 5-cell 18V/20V lithium-ion slide packs from 1.5Ah to 8.0Ah, the tool maker's own or CEENR's: DeWalt 20V MAX, Milwaukee M18, Makita 18V LXT, Bosch 18V (blue, not green POWER FOR ALL), BLACK+DECKER 20V MAX, Craftsman V20, Porter-Cable 20V MAX and North American Worx 20V PowerShare. Two more fit WA3551-style and WA3408-style Worx 20V packs, so match the model printed on your pack. None is for LiFePO4 or 3- or 4-cell packs.
Do CEENR replacement batteries have a USB port?
No. A CEENR replacement battery is a drop-in pack for one tool brand, with no USB port on the pack. To charge devices from one, clip on the 45W USB-C power adapter made for that battery platform; CEENR makes it for eight tool brands, and not for Ryobi 18V ONE+ or DeWalt 18V XRP packs. PDnation™ batteries are the line with USB-C built in: the Pro works as a 144 Wh, 100W USB-C power bank and the Mini as a 72 Wh, 45W one, with no Brand Mount needed.
Should I leave the adapter on the battery when I'm not using it?
No. Unclip it when you're not using it, so it doesn't slowly drain the pack on standby. After heavy high-current use, let the pack cool before you recharge it. While it is clipped on, the 3-LED gauge shows the charge left, and a blinking first LED means the pack is low.
