BLACK+DECKER 20V MAX battery compatibility

BLACK+DECKER says any 20V MAX POWERCONNECT battery can be used with any BLACK+DECKER tool designed for 20V MAX batteries, including the 20V MAX Lithium tools sold before the POWERCONNECT name. CEENR 5.0, 6.0 and 8.0Ah packs use the same slide; we list 66 verified models below, across 12 categories, each checked against BLACK+DECKER's own product pages and instruction manuals. Exceptions: products with a built-in battery don't take a slide pack even when they're labeled 20V MAX, and 12V, 16V, 40V and 60V MAX tools use other packs.

- 12V MAX, 16V MAX, 40V MAX and 60V MAX tools (e.g. the 40V MAX CM2043C mower and LCS1240 chainsaw)
- Older BLACK+DECKER 18V NiCd tools (HPB18 / Firestorm packs)
- Other Stanley Black & Decker brands such as DeWalt, Craftsman or Porter-Cable, whose manuals list only their own packs
FAQ
Do all 20V MAX batteries fit all 20V MAX tools?
For BLACK+DECKER's own packs, yes: BLACK+DECKER says any 20V MAX POWERCONNECT battery can be used with any BLACK+DECKER tool designed for 20V MAX batteries, and that POWERCONNECT packs work with the 20V MAX products bought before the POWERCONNECT name. CEENR packs use the same slide interface. A few products close a door or cover over the pack — the 190657 backpack sprayer and the BCPW350 power cleaner; make sure the door or cover closes over the pack.
My manual lists packs only up to 4.0Ah — will 5.0, 6.0 or 8.0Ah fit?
BLACK+DECKER's largest 20V MAX packs are 4.0Ah (LB2X4020, LBD4020S), so its battery tables list nothing bigger, and older manuals list only 1.5 or 2.0Ah packs because they were printed before the larger ones came out. CEENR's 5.0, 6.0 and 8.0Ah packs use the same slide. The 8.0Ah pack is taller and heavier, so the tool feels less balanced. We don't list it for the BDCCS20 circular saw; in Europe BLACK+DECKER rules its large DUALVOLT pack out of the similar BDCCS18. On the MTC220 3-in-1 mower, whose MTD100 deck BLACK+DECKER says can tip depending on the trimmer and pack, a lighter pack keeps it steadier.
Is 20V MAX the same as 18V?
For the pack, yes. 20V MAX is the no-load maximum and 18V the nominal voltage, and BLACK+DECKER sells the same slide system as 18V POWERCONNECT in Europe — the same models, such as the BCHV001 dustbuster and BHFEA18D1 stick vac, are 20V MAX in the US and 18V there. BLACK+DECKER's older 18V NiCd tools (HPB18 / Firestorm packs) are a different system and don't take 20V MAX packs.
Do CEENR packs work in POWERCONNECT and older 20V MAX Lithium tools?
Yes. POWERCONNECT is the current name of BLACK+DECKER's 20V MAX pack family, and BLACK+DECKER says POWERCONNECT batteries work with all the 20V MAX products bought before the rename — so the 20V MAX Lithium drills, trimmers and sweepers in this list take the same packs.
Will they charge on my BLACK+DECKER charger?
CEENR BLACK+DECKER packs are lithium-ion 20V MAX slide packs: they charge on BLACK+DECKER 20V MAX chargers such as the LCS1620 and BDCAC202, and on the CEENR 6A fast charger for BLACK+DECKER 20V MAX. Larger packs take proportionally longer on slow cup chargers.
My tool isn't on the list — will the battery still fit?
